ByNina | In Adoptable Cats, FIV+

What’s sweeter than sugar? ME! I came to the MCSPCA from Ocean County Animal Facility in Toms River. Sadly, many shelters euthanize FIV+ cats because they are likelier to get sick when exposed to germs. Like with children at school, illnesses such as head colds can circulate easily in a shelter with so many fellow felines hanging around. Since many shelters have limited resources to care for so many animals (sick or otherwise), they have no choice but to euthanize the sickest ones. Unfortunately, FIV+ kitties are always at the top of the list.

Luckily for me, the MCSPCA does NOT euthanize FIV+ kitties! They offered to take me in and find me a home. Isn’t that great? I am coming out of my shell, and I know the more love and care my human friends give me, the happier I’ll be! I’m excited thinking about all the affection and play I’ll enjoy in my future home.

I am about 6 years young. I lived with a cat in my last home, so I could again with one as mellow and friendly as I am. I wouldn’t have any problems being your only kitty either. Sometimes you have to borrow sugar, but I’m the kind you keep!
