In recent weeks, the Monmouth County SPCA has been advised that there is a Craigslist scam that asks potential adopters for a “down payment” on a dog or puppy. Unfortunately, people have been scammed into believing that they’re communicating with us and have released funds only to find that, when they get here, there is no such dog. The Monmouth County SPCA never takes deposits or down payments for animals online. Please be aware of anyone else posing as a representative of the Monmouth County SPCA online. Our adoptions are always done here at the shelter in person.
Our vision is to make New Jersey a place where every animal is treated with respect, kindness and love. Even though the animals in our care reside in state-of-the-art housing, what they really need is a loving home. Thank you so much for considering adoption!
We’d love nothing more than to open our adoption floor up for public viewing but at the same time we know how important it is to keep our staff, volunteers and the public safe. In an effort to accommodate all involved, including helping our adoptable dogs find their forever homes, we’ll be allowing potential adopters to reserve their own timeslot to visit our adoption floor and meet our dogs ❤ We’ll be sure to adhere to appropriate social distancing and other safety guidelines so that everyone has a safe experience while looking for their new forever friend!
Interested in meeting our dogs? Complete our canine adoption survey (below) and email it to [email protected] – a staff member will be in touch with your reservation time! We hope to see you soon 🐶
Interested in cats? You can browse our adoptable kitties, find our the feline survey and make your appointment here: bit.ly/2VXmpke
Please visit our Homeward Bound Adoption Center in Eatontown to meet our pets. We only do adoptions in person (please bring all family members).
We will ask you to fill out a Pets and People Adoption Survey and talk to an Adoption Counselor, who will help you find your perfect match. Adopting a pet is a lifelong commitment, so finding the right match is very important.
Finding the perfect pet takes time. The process usually takes at least an hour, so please plan accordingly. All adoption paperwork must be submitted to the front desk one hour before closing.
