2020 MCSPCA Matching Gift Challenge: Compassion Counts!

Exciting News! Our anonymous Compassion Counts Matching Gift Campaign donor is so thrilled at the amazing response so far that they have made the incredibly generous decision to increase the gift match from $200,000 to $300,000! With the cancellation of our two biggest fundraisers (our Dog Walk + Pet Fair and our Fur Ball Gala) your support is needed more than ever to keep critical programs for our animals up and running. All donations will continue to be doubled over the next few months!  THANK YOU.

Right now, you have an amazing opportunity to help save the lives of TWICE the vulnerable cats, dogs, and other companion animals (not to mention wildlife!) right here in Monmouth County.

  • $15 will become $30 to provide shelter and unconditional love to abandoned cats and dogs.
  • $25 will become $50 to help spay or neuter animals so they can be adopted and given the second chance all precious pets deserve!
  • $50 will become $100 to help rescued animals receive emergency surgery.
  • ANY amount you give will be doubled so the Monmouth County SPCA (MCSPCA) can celebrate our 75th Anniversary by helping even more animals in our community.

FRIENDS, THIS MATCHING OPPORTUNITY COULDN’T BE NEEDED MORE.  THE PANDEMIC HAS UNFORTUNATELY FORCED US TO CANCEL OUR BELOVED ANNUAL DOG WALK & PET FAIR AND OTHER MAJOR FUNDRAISERS. OUR SHELTER REMAINS OPEN AS AN ESSENTIAL MONMOUTH COUNTY OPERATION. THROUGH HUMANE LAW ENFORCEMENT, ANIMAL CONTROL, SHELTERING FOR HOMELESS PETS AND MEDICAL CARE THROUGH OUR VOGEL VETERINARY CLINIC, WE CONTINUE TO PROVIDE RESCUE, A SAFE HAVEN, MEDICAL TREATMENT AND ADVOCACY FOR ALL ANIMALS.
YOUR LOVE AND COMPASSION HAVE MEANT SO MUCH TO US IN THE PAST. THROUGH THIS MATCHING OPPORTUNITY, YOU CAN MAKE AN EVEN GREATER IMPACT ON THE LIVES OF HELPLESS ANIMALS WHO DESERVE A SECOND CHANCE.

Your Donation Helps us Save Mamas Like Frenchie and Her TEN Puppies!

When we say it’s part of our mission to save lives, we mean it quite literally – especially for a dog like Frenchie. Frenchie was found near dead, presumed to have been hit by a car and lying on the side of the road with a broken leg. When Frenchie was picked up by local animal control she was brought to a shelter where she was found to be pregnant, as well as heartworm positive. With the odds stacked against her, our friends at Project Safe Pet reached out to us and we didn’t hesitate to take this girl into our care.

Frenchie was transported to the Monmouth County SPCA and within days she gave birth to 10 healthy puppies! We’re so lucky to have gotten her just in the nick of time, so her and her pups could be born in a warm foster home and not a cold, concrete floor. In the coming weeks, Frenchie will be seen by a specialist to determine whether her leg can be saved or will need to be amputated – either way, the outcome will be better than what could have been if Frenchie hadn’t been saved from the side of the road.
Our Vogel Veterinary Care Center team has been seeing Frenchie weekly and changing her cast, as well as making sure this mama is staying strong and healthy for her puppies! Frenchie’s 10 puppies will be available for adoption in approximately 4-5 weeks and mama soon after!
Your donations enable us to say “YES,” without hesitation, to save animals who need us! Right now, every dollar will be matched by a generous donor so that your impact to help our animals is DOUBLED! Please consider making a contribution so that animals like Frenchie never have to be alone, scared or hopeless, ever again.

Your Donation Helps us Honor Che Che’s Family

Che-Che came to the Monmouth County SPCA when two members of her family passed away due to the virus. Little 9-lb Che-Che was scared and shaking when she arrived – we can’t imagine what it’s like for a dog like her to suddenly lose everything she’s ever known and then end up in an unfamiliar place. Our staff knew Che-Che needed some comfort and even through our PPE, we could tell a loving touch was all it took to help her to feel safe. In the coming days, Che-Che will receive some veterinary care, including a dental, spay and vaccines plus a warm bubbly bath so that rubbery gloves and crinkly gowns are no longer needed to give her some affection! When Che-Che is ready, we plan to honor the family and those they lost by finding this sweet little girl the perfect home.
Unfortunately, Che-Che is the first of many animals that we anticipate needing a safe haven in these uncertain times. We’re asking for your support NOW so that we can ensure every animal has a loving place to call home while they’re temporary without one.

Tanner Is Alive Today Because Of Your Donations

Sweet Tanner came into MCSPCA as a stray in terrible condition with devastating bite wounds that had turned into bone infections. As the quality of life for our animals is the most important thing, our team at the Vogel Vet Clinic considered euthanasia as potentially the kindest thing to do for Tanner. Tanner had other ideas and rallied in our care! As he healed, it became a possibility that amputation would be the best course of action to allow Tanner to thrive. Again, Tanner disagreed and grew stronger and stronger, to the point where he is now in foster and walking on his own! He has a bright future thanks to VVCC and your donation will allow us to keep saving others like him!

Your Donation Brings Dogs Like Grace To Safety

Grace, an emaciated, neglected, and heavily pregnant pitbull was rescued from an abusive household in South Carolina. After giving birth, she and her puppies were transported North. The 6 puppies were connected to our amazing foster network and have grown strong, healthy, happy and recently found their loving forever homes, but Grace is still healing while looking for her new family. Your donation allows us to continue to expand our foster program, giving more and more companion animals the chance they never dreamed of having!

Your Donation Provides Emergency Care To Dogs Like Elvis

Puppies are gonna do what puppies are gonna do: sweet foster pup Elvis got a little too eager with his toy and managed to chomp down the squeaker! Elvis’ foster family immediately noticed a change: he was lethargic and not his usual goofy self. They rushed him to our Vogel Vet Clinic where he had immediate surgery to remove the toy and is currently recovering beautifully to return to his happy puppy self! Your donation will help to continue to provide our community with genuinely affordable care, both emergency, standard and preventative.

Your Donation Changes The Life Of A Dog Like Lewey

OH LEWEY! Lewey: abused, neglected, living in a crate, underfed and never loved. He was rescued by law enforcement during a drug raid and turned over to our Animal Control Officers for a better future. Sweet Lewey was placed into the home of one of the incredible fosters in our network. The foster couple fell head over heels with Lewey while he grew strong and healthy in their care. On Friday, April 10th, the gentleman in this photo surprised his other half on her birthday with adoption papers for Lewey. Donate now to help us keep sharing happy endings!

Dice & Spinkles Rely On Donors Like You

Dice & Sprinkles came to MCSPCA as tiny stray kittens, testing positive for Feline Leukemia (FeLV,) a fate that many shelters will euthanize to prevent. Not MCSPCA! As these two little beauties grew and flourished in our care, they remained overlooked because of their diagnoses and sadly, also showed signs of ringworm as well. The pair were placed in foster care due to their compromised immune system and soon beat those worms! Recently, an adopter who had just lost her FeLV cat saw these two online and adopted them both into her loving home! Thanks to your donations, we can continue to fight for animals who would otherwise have to fight alone.
