Homeward Bound Shelter Renewal Campaign Naming Opportunities

In April 2008, our renovation began and the transformation from the old, drafty, crumbling concrete block and chain link "pound" to a new, state-of-the-art, animal-friendly Adoption Center was on its way.
The mission of our renovation is to reduce euthanasia by increasing adoptions, humane education programs and support for all animal-related issues. Read the details of the concepts of our design on our Renovation Story page. The progress of our construction is "blogged" on our Renovation News page.

The renovation will be funded entirely through private donations to our Homeward Bound Capital Campaign. We still need to raise $2,000,000 and we need your support. The campaign offers once-in-a-lifetime naming opportunities for people who want to be a part of our promising future. It would be our privilege to recognize our supporters, or the memory of a pet, by naming a space in our building in recognition of your gift. We have the following opportunities that can be ordered online: Doggie Digs, Kitty Kubbies, Paw Tiles and Pawsway Pavers.

Doggie Dig - $5000 Each
Each Doggie Dig provides quiet, private living space designed to provide comfort and relaxation for each dog while they wait for their new home. Each Dig is glass-enclosed to reduce the noise each dog hears and most importantly, the smell of other dogs. Our research shows that smelling other dogs, especially ones that cannot be seen, is very stressful to dogs and is a major cause of barking.

Paw-shaped sniff holes are provided in each Dig to allow the dogs to smell potential adopters. They are all positioned at doggie-height to make sure even the smallest dog can take advantage of them!

Kitty Kubby - $2500 each
Individual, spacious Kitty Kubbies line one wall of the Adoption Center, positioned so most cats can see the outside. Each Kubby has an elevated platform that can be used to perch high for curious cats or to lay underneath for those kitties who might need a bit more security.

Each Kubby is specially designed to have excellent air circulation. Fresh air is pulled into each and is drawn all the way in to be vented out the back. This means there is no stale air in the back of the Kubby as can happen in old cage designs. Most importantly this flow of fresh air means that each kitty cannot smell other kitties and best of all viruses like upper respiratory disease cannot spread from one cat to another, a constant problem in our old building.

Like the Doggie Digs, each Kitty Kubby has a paw-shaped sniff hole so each cat can interact with potential adopters.

Paw Print Tiles - $1000 Each (image coming soon)
The main corridor of the new Adoption Center will be lined by 12" x 12" ceramic tiles that have a Paw Print that mirrors our sniff holes and room for your inscription. A perfect way to honor a loved person or pet, and show your support for the renovation at the same time.

Pawsway Pavers - $250 (image is for example only, actual paver may be different)
12" x 12" concrete pavers will line the outdoor walkways for the Memorial Garden. Like the Paw Print Tiles, this is a wonderful way to honor a loved person or pet and support our renovation.

Below are photos that illustrate why this renovation is so important and so successful. Your generous support to our capital campaign will go directly to the well-being of the animals waiting for homes at the MCSPCA.
